‘A comforting theory of life’ | Original Soundtrack | Podcast
Pekka Sauri is a well-known Finnish politician and a psychologist, who’s best remembered for his legendary radio show called Yölinjalla (‘On night line’) which aired from 1986 to 2002.
Sauri also served a long career as the Deputy Mayor of Helsinki.
Now, Pekka Sauri recorded an 8 episode monologue-podcast called ‘Lohdullinen teoria elämästä’ (‘A comforting theory of life’) with the Finnish Apu Magazine. I had the absolute privilege of composing an original soundtrack for the series. The soundtrack will be released as an EP in late 2021.
Together with producer and sound designer Sami Kuusela, we wanted to create a futuristic lounge-like sonic environment or a modern art gallery where thoughts and ideas could flow freely. I’m very proud of how it turned out as Mr Sauri’s stories and the music intertwine beautifully. I want to thank Mr Kuusela as he invested a lot of hours into making it perfect!
‘A comforting theory of life ‘ series focuses on different aspects of life and Sauri’s most important message to his listeners is that in the end, “everything will be clarified”:
No matter how hopeless the life situation may seem and look, problems can always be turned into practical solutions and you can think about what could be done next. Life can be lived in so many different ways.
