‘Peltsin Toinen Luonto’ | Original Soundtrack | Lifestyle Series
Mikko ‘Peltsi’ Peltola is a well-known Finnish radio- and TV personality as well as a full-time adventurer.
‘Peltsin toinen luonto’ (‘Peltsis’ second nature’) is a TV series that is focused on arctic nature and winter activities: freeskiing, sledge riding, ice climbing and especially fishing.
The six-episode TV series was shot in the Siberian Kamchatka peninsula, Northern Norway as well as Eastern Finland and Finnish Lapland.
Together with director Mika Niva, we started working with the soundtrack early on. The main elements were the arctic frost, a feeling of being far away from home and adventure. The almost 50 track soundtrack consists of influences from Siberian traditional music to electronic music like drum and bass. You can also hear echoes of well-established artists like Vangelis or Hans Zimmer.
I think the soundtrack is a combination of my and the director Mika Niva’s musical tastes, Niva bringing in flavours from electronic and urban styles as I was more into classical, world music and ambient.
